Search Assistant à

Question:

Why do I need the Search Assistant?

Short Answer:

To return just the items I am looking for with my “Lookout” searches.

Longer Answer:

1)     Lookout is a wonderfully fast search engine that returns ALL Outlook and Windows folder items that contain your search words.  The returned set of items is often too large to quickly locate the actual item you are looking for.

2)     The Lookout Advanced Search “keywords” solve  this problem of too many items returned by qualifying your search, however the “keywords” are difficult to remember and enter with the correct syntax.

3)     The “Search Assistant” makes all of the Advanced search features and “keywords” of Lookout simple and quick to use.  Building your advanced search string and entering it into the Lookout search engine for you.

4)     All of Lookout’s advanced “keywords” are clearly laid out so you only need to enter the actual words that you are looking for

5)     The “Search Assistant” does all the work of building and entering a correct advanced search string for you.

Click the “Assistant” Button to display the Search Assistant window.

Limit your Search to Selected Folders:

·        All Outlook folders are listed for you

·        Check just the folders you want searched

·        Add any Windows folders you want to search

·        Store your common searches in a “Profile” for future use

Use all of Lookout’s Advanced features to find desired items more quickly

·        Known keywords (ex: Subject contains the word “proposal”)
